Youngblood encourages participation in essay contest
PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 7 – State Rep. Rosita C. Youngblood, D-Phila., today encouraged participation in an essay contest being sponsored by Philadelphia Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown.
The essay contest is to nominate an outstanding grandparent for recognition at the councilwoman's 2nd Annual Celebration of Grandparents Brunch.
Five winners will receive two complimentary tickets to the brunch, where the grandparent will be honored.
The length of the essay should be 150 words. The essay submission deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 9.
Essay submissions, including the complete contact information for the essayist and grandparent being nominated, should be sent to Jason Lewis at jason.lewis@phila.gov or mailed to:

Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown's 2nd Annual Celebration of Grandparents Brunch will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4 at the Hyatt Regency at Penn's Landing, 201 S. Columbus Blvd. at Dock Street in Philadelphia. Lisa Thomas-Laury from 6 ABC will be the mistress of ceremonies.
