Parker to host consumer protection workshop for Philadelphia seniors
PHILADELPHIA, June 2 – State Rep. Cherelle L. Parker, D-Phila., will host a consumer protection workshop for area seniors Thursday, June 19 to help protect against identity theft and other unscrupulous activities aimed at defrauding senior citizens.
The workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, June 19 at the Finley Recreation Center, 7700 Mansfield Ave.
Parker said that senior citizens face unique and significantly different needs than younger Pennsylvanians, especially when it comes to consumer protection issues.
"Seniors are often the target of many scam artists who attempt to rob them of their money and identity," Parker said. "This workshop will provide valuable information about consumer issues facing our senior communities and also allow seniors to learn how they can protect themselves from fraud and con artists."
Register to participate by calling Parker's constituent service office at 215-242-7303.
