Rep. Parker to host pre-Thanksgiving Dinner for local families
HARRISBURG, Nov. 16 – State Rep. Cherelle L. Parker, D-Phila., along with Kitchen of Love, would like to invite all residents of the Greater Philadelphia community to a free pre-Thanksgiving Day Dinner from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Upper Room Missionary Baptist Church, 7236 Ogontz Ave., Philadelphia, 19150.
"Our annual dinner is open to all interested in joining our feast," Parker said. "This event will give seniors and low-income families an opportunity to mingle with others who may not have a family or have means to celebrate Thanksgiving dinner."
Parker said the dinner will include a presentation from the General Mills “Feeding the Dream” initiative which promotes health and education advocacy in African-American communities. This nationwide program also recognizes African-American moms committed to doing great things for themselves, their families and communities.
