Rep. Pashinski prepares to deliver 15,000 statements and petitions to state Education Secretary Ron Tomalis outside the Governor’s Reception Room to request restoration of public school funding in the state budget. Since Gov. Corbett took office he has slashed Pre-K to 12 classroom funding by nearly $1 billion and Accountability Block Grants for early education have been cut by 60 percent from $250 million to $100 million. The burden of paying for schools has fallen on the backs of property taxpayers, schools have cut academic and nonacademic programs and 14,000 jobs have been eliminated.

Rep. Pashinski delivers 15,000 statements and petitions to state Education Secretary

EVERY VOTE COUNTS! Pa. state Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski speaks in support of a package of voting reforms announced by House Democrats to mitigate some of the potentially damaging effects of the recently enacted voter ID law.

Pashinski said the state must stop the unwise rush to implement the voter ID law this November and he’s proposing common sense legislation that would wait to implement voter ID so the state can carefully educate the public and poll workers about the complex details in the law.
