Petrarca’s offices can assist in claiming property from state Treasurer's Office
HARRISBURG, May 21 – With more than $3.2 billion of unclaimed property currently housed within the state treasury, state Rep. Joseph Petrarca, D-Westmoreland/Armstrong/Indiana, wanted to remind constituents that his offices can assist in recovering their claims.
“The treasury receives hundreds of millions of dollars in unclaimed property every year, most of which go missing for things as minor as a misspelled name or out-of-date address,” Petrarca said. “I encourage anyone in the 55th Legislative District to reach out to my office if they believe their property has gone missing or unclaimed.”
Petrarca said constituents can check for their unclaimed property by visiting the Treasurer’s Office's Unclaimed Property database or by calling the Unclaimed Property Call Center at 1-800-222-2046.
Potential claimants also are encouraged to reach out to one of Petrarca’s offices, where staff will be on-hand to assist in finding and recovering lost property.
“If you think you’re entitled to a claim, please use the available resources at your disposal. My office is willing and able to help guide you through the process of recovering your lost or unclaimed property with the state treasury,” Petrarca said.
