Fabrizio to host House Democratic Policy Committee roundtable on improving community health Thursday in Erie

ERIE, March 19 – As part of the House Democratic Caucus’ Plan4PA, state Rep. Flo Fabrizio, D-Erie, will host a House Democratic Policy Committee roundtable discussion on efforts to improve community health.  

The public roundtable discussion will take place at 9 a.m. Thursday, March 22 at UPMC Health Plan, Community Room, first floor, 100 State St. 

Fabrizio requested the meeting to build off the Blue Zones Project presentation last November in Erie to explore what more the state can do to help improve community health metrics and initiatives. He will be joined by legislators from across the state, including Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster.

9 a.m.        Welcome and opening remarks

9:10 a.m.   Discussion with panelists:

  • Melissa Lyon, director, Erie County Department of Health
  • Bill McCarthy, recently retired CEO of a large behavioral health organization
  • Dr. Christine Peoples, clinical assistant professor of medicine, Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology, Department of Medicine, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center

10:30 a.m. Closing remarks
