Costa to host House Democratic Policy Committee hearing on K-9 state funding Tuesday in Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH, May 7 – State Rep. Dom Costa, D-Allegheny, today announced the House Democratic Policy Committee will host a public hearing to explore state funding for K-9 units.
The hearing will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 8 at the Pittsburgh Police and Fire Training Academy, K-9 Training Center, 1395 Washington Blvd.
Costa, chairman of the Allegheny County Delegation and long-time animal advocate, will bring together state legislators from across the state to discuss why K-9 units should receive state funding to lessen the local financial burden and fundraising demands, while maximizing usage of these important units.
The hearing will feature testimony from local public safety officials and K-9 handlers about their critical work and funding struggles.
