February 5, 2010: Veterans Outreach


State Rep. Babette Josephs, D-Phila., paid special attention to the census briefing. As majority chairwoman of the House State Government Committee, she is looking at the way in which the 2010 Census is being conducted.

Members of the House Democratic Policy Committee listen and take notes as experts testify on the status of veterans outreach in the Commonwealth.

State Rep. Ron Waters, D-Phila., poses a question about carrying out the census in urban areas to the Census officials.

Rep. Mark Longietti, D-Mercer, asks questions about details of the census form. At his right is Rep. Stan Saylor, R-York, chairman of the Republican Policy Committee. The briefing was held as a joint meeting between the House Democratic and Republican Policy committees.

Brigadier General Scott Wagner, testified on behalf of the state Department of Military and Veterans Affairs. Gen. Wagner is the deputy adjutant general for veterans affairs.

Policy Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, led the joint briefing with Philip Lutz and Ben Ramos testifying about the administration of the 2010 Census.
