The House Professional Licensure Committee conducted a voting meeting on Wednesday, May 11, 2011. The following legislation was voted on:
House Bill 816 (Grove) – Clarifies the experience requirements for clinical social workers, marriage and family therapists and professional counselors, and extends the cut-off date under which marriage and family therapists and professional counselors may be licensed with master’s degrees that are less than 48 credits

House Bill 838 (Bear) – Defines ophthalmic (eye) surgery and prohibits optometrists from performing such surgery.

House Bill 1054 (Mustio) – Allows retired professional engineers to renew their licenses without completing required continuing education, and thereby continue to identify themselves by the title P.E.
