Sappey announces Savvy Senior Seminar for Aug. 20

HARRISBURG, Aug. 14 – State Rep. Christina Sappey announced today she will host a Savvy Senior Seminar on August 20th. The event will feature a presentation by the Pennsylvania attorney general’s office and highlight ways seniors can avoid scams.

The seminar will take place from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at the New Garden Township Building, located at 299 Starr Road, Landenberg, PA 19350.

“In the digital age, it’s become difficult for all of us to spot the varied ways criminals utilize technology to help gain access to our personal information,” Sappey said. “This seminar will focus on helping seniors spot potential scams and how to avoid the potential hazards that, unfortunately, exist in our everyday lives.

“The office of Attorney General Josh Shapiro has agreed to make a presentation during the seminar. His office will be able to inform us about the types of scams they’ve seen from around the state and inform seniors and their family members on how to better protect themselves.”
