The House signing is required before a bill can go to the Senate. Shapiro led efforts in the House to pass S.B. 1 and turn Pennsylvania’s 50-year-old law from one of the worst in the nation to one of the best. Gov. Rendell signed the bill into law on Feb. 14.

Rep. Shapiro joins Reps. Bryan Cutler, R-Lancaster, and Rick Taylor, D-Montgomery, Feb. 11 to present a $25,000 grant to the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association (ALSA), which works to find a cure and new treatments for ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease.
