Has this ever happened to you? You purchase a tank of gas with your debit card and then your card is denied for some other purchase because the gas station placed a hold on your card account in excess of the price of the fuel you pumped.
That hold could be for as much as $75 over what you pumped and can stay in place for days, preventing you from spending your money as you see fit.
That is an unfair trade practice and I’ve introduced legislation (House Bill 1372) to stop it.
Please sign my petition and let the legislature know that when you buy a gallon of gasoline you should be charged for a gallon of gasoline, no more.
