<p>State Rep. Mike Sturla was honored with the Arc of Pennsylvania's Legislator of the Year award at a ceremony in March. Rep. Sturla was recognized for his tireless work on behalf of the Commonwealth's people with intellectual disabilities. Among his contributions is <a href=http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/billinfo/bill_history.cfm?syear=2009&sind=0&body=H&type=B&bn=704 title=Read the bill target=_blank>House Bill 704</a>, which would make the state's special education funding formula more equitable. It is one of the Arc's legislative priorities for 2010.</p><p>Pictured here with Rep. Rep. Mike Sturla invited members of the Lancaster Barnstormers organization to the Pa. House of Representatives to honor to their championship season. The House also unanimously adopted Sturla's resolution (H.R. 891) that honored the players, the manager, the coaching staff, and the entire staff of the Lancaster Barnstormers baseball team for their accomplishments and on the occasion of winning the 2006 Atlantic League Championship.
