HB 112 would prohibit Secretaries and Deputy Secretaries with regulatory or licensing authority from accepting employment or compensation from a business they regulated for 2 years after they leave their position. HB 113 would prohibit Executive-level State employee with regulatory or licensing authority from accepting employment or compensation from a business they regulated for 2 years after they leave their position. HB 114 would prohibit an individual employed by a regulated industry from accepting nomination or appointment to a Secretary or Deputy Secretary position which would monitor that industry for 2 years after terminating employment with the industry. HB 1212 would direct the PA Department of Education to conduct a comprehensive statewide costing-out study of charter schools and cyber charter schools. HB 1213 would require that those seeking preferential assessment in the Clean and Green Program have submitted an Agricultural Erosion and Sediment Control Plan. HB 1214 would establish the "Adopt-A-River" program within the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. HB 1215 would designate the new Lititz Pike Bridge in Lancaster City as the Thaddeus Stevens Bridge. HB 1216 would establish the Municipal Fire and Emergency Services Grant Fund to support Pennsylvania's municipal fire and emergency service organizations. HB 1227 would alter the administration of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit. HB 1228 would create the State Police Municipal Patrol Services Act to address the inequities of state police funding and patrol. HB 1276 would prohibit electric generation suppliers and natural gas suppliers licensed by the Public Utility Commission from charging upfront fees to potential employees/subcontractors that are hired to encourage consumers to switch their supplier. HB 1577 would exempt local and county libraries from the state sales tax when they sell used books. HB 1655 would require that Attorney General contracts for debt collection include a provision that any payment less than the full settlement owed must be approved by the referring agency after reviewing documentation. HB 1656 would prohibit no bid state contracts with private collection agencies by requiring a competitive bidding process. HR 112 designates April 4, 2011 as Thaddeus Stevens Day in Pennsylvania to commemorate the anniversary of the birth of this statesman, civil rights activist and philanthropist. |
