If you are a senior or a voter with a disability who needs to apply for a free voter ID card through PennDOT, free transportation is available to you.

Follow these steps to take advantage of this service for the purpose of getting necessary transportation to obtain a photo ID for voting purposes:

1. Call "511" to request information about Pennsylvania's Shared Ride Program. After dialing "511," you will be prompted to select from a list of options for proceeding.
2. Callers should select "public transportation."
3. From the next list of options, the caller will select "Shared Ride."
4. Then state the name of the public transportation authority for your area or get a list by stating the county you are coming from.

NOTE: Be sure to confirm that no cost is involved for the public transportation you select.
