At a Harrisburg news conference, Rep. John Pallone said it was time for larger municipalities that use state police for law enforcement to pay for that service. He said many of these municipalities have the wherewithal to afford either their own police protection, but choose the services of state troopers, while other communities that pay taxes to support their own police force are also paying – through their state taxes – to fund the free police protection these larger municipalities are receiving. - 7/1/2008
