2009-10 State Budget

Strategic investments in education, economic development and health care will create jobs and help Pennsylvanians through this recession. The Republicans have taken the opposite approach by slashing state funding so drastically in so many areas that it guarantees programs will be threatened and your local taxes will go up.

Education

Education is key to Pennsylvania's future workforce. But the Republican budget short-changes our children by cutting basic and higher education funding, eliminating proven programs and forcing school districts to choose between laying off thousands of teachers or raising property taxes.
