House Democrats fund volunteer emergency services

You need to get to the hospital -- it’s an emergency. An ambulance arrives to take you to the care you need, possibly saving your life.

Your house catches fire – you dial 911. The fire department comes and gets you and your family out of the house. They save your lives.

In towns where there is no paid emergency services personnel, volunteers provide these life-saving services. And now, those volunteers need our help.

Democrats in the state House introduced and fought for legislation to re-authorize $25 million annually in state grant money to help support volunteer fire and ambulance companies. The measure is in the Senate for a vote.

Tell your state senator and Emergency Preparedness Committee Chairwoman, Sen. Baker to VOTE YES for House Bill 906. Provide the funds to our volunteers so they can buy the best equipment and get the best training to provide the best services for the citizens of Pennsylvania. You deserve it and so do they.
