Help Pennsylvania be a leader in medical researchState Sen. Joe Scarnati, the top Republican in the Pennsylvania Senate, has said there is not enough time this year to deal with legislation providing grants to Pennsylvania biomedical research facilities that work on finding cures for diseases like cancer. He recently said the legislative plate is too full to deal with this issue. Question iscan we wait to find cures for some of our most deadly and agonizing diseases such as Alzheimers? Can we put off finding cures for life-altering afflictions like paralysis? Should we tell loved ones who have seen their own suffer that Senate Republican leaders dont think we have enough time for this? Join House Democrats in telling Sen. Scarnati, Senate Republican Leader Dominic Pileggi and Senate Finance Committee Chairman Patrick Browne to move the Jonas Salk Legacy Fund bill (HB 1142) out of the Senate Finance Committee and vote on it. Tell them we want medical cures and the thousands of good paying jobs that would come with these research facilities. Tell them to stop playing partisan politics and vote FOR the issues that matter most to Pennsylvania residents. Senators, vote for the Jonas Salk Legacy Fund! |
