In tough times like this we are all looking to save a buck any way we can. But we all need to get out of the house once in a while and enjoy life a little. I have found that our state parks provide a way to enjoy a day of swimming, hiking, fishing or picnicking without blowing the budget. We often stop for food and drinks at local businesses before going to the park. I'm sure these businesses also appreciate the value the park brings to the local community. Now I understand lawmakers in Harrisburg are looking to save some bucks by cutting funding for our parks. I would encourage anyone who uses the parks, which are a treasure in our great state, to contact their legislators and urge them to keep them funded and operating.
