I recently introduced H.B. 1393 that would allow for use of medical marijuana in Pennsylvania.
Many of today's prescribed pain medications have severe side effects and reactions that can be so horrible that some patients would rather endure the pain. Many of today's pain medicines are also strongly addictive, leaving people with terrible withdrawal difficulties.
Medical marijuana is a pain management medication that is known to be effective in relieving pain and is not physically addictive for most people. Unfortunately, in Pennsylvania, it is not a legal option.
Patients across the Commonwealth are asking us to legalize the use of marijuana for legitimate, prescribed medical purposes. Click here to hear comments from my recent news conference announcing the introduction of this bill.
