The Marcellus Shale is a valuable natural resource that belongs to Pennsylvania. I have to wonder why our governor is refusing to reap the financial rewards of the Marcellus Shale at a time when the state is facing a financial crisis.

The Marcellus development promises to pad the pockets of already very rich drilling companies, but it also threatens our natural resources.

I have asked Gov. Corbett not to lease any more state forests to drilling. Now I am asking him to agree to a severance tax on drilling companies so we could have a revenue source to balance our budget and repair any environmental damage caused by drilling.

Please add your voice to those saying Pennsylvania must stop giving away this valuable natural resource.
