Pam DeLissio represents the 194th Legislative District, serving portions of Montgomery County and Philadelphia. Having earned a bachelor's degree in health planning and administration from Penn State University in 1978, DeLissio has more than 30 years experience in the fields of long-term care and small-business ownership. She has held two prominent positions helping to serve older, limited-income Pennsylvanians with affordable housing and services, first as administrator of the Roxborough Home for Women, and then as president of the Kearsley Retirement Community, both in Philadelphia. During her tenure at Kearsley, DeLissio orchestrated the precedent-setting use of city, state and federal funding, as well as debt financing and private contributions, for a $15 million-expansion project to create a continuum of care for low-income adults. For the past 10 years, DeLissio has consulted in the field of long-term care. She also acquired a business that provides Internet and technology solutions for residential and commercial customers. DeLissio is recognized for her strong leadership skills and has volunteered for a variety of professional and community organizations, often as a member of the board, including: PANPHA (Pennsylvania Association for Non-Profit Homes for the Aging); Intercommunity Action Inc.; Immaculate Mary Nursing Home; Philadelphia Corporation for Aging; the Mt. Airy Business Association; and Caritas. In 2005, she was named one of "Pennsylvania's 2005 Best 50 Women in Business." DeLissio also received an honorable mention from the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging for the AAHSA Development Corporation/B.C. Ziegler and Co. Strategic Financial Fellowship. She also was a finalist for a John Heinz Senate Fellowship. She resides in Roxborough. |
