Over the last year
alone, the Pennsylvania legislature has been dealing with
some very significant issues, including public health and safety issues
like transportation funding and a statewide smoking ban. In
addition, we are taking a hard look at how PA funds public education and
are working to rein in health insurance costs, reduce property taxes,
and implement real energy reform. These are critical issues that require
serious thought as comprehensive legislation is developed. Part of
that thought process includes learning what form Pennsylvanians think
these policies should take. Polling has been one tool used to
assess the thoughts of PA citizens. In fact, our independent
polling data, conducted by unbiased professionals, has been instrumental
and valuable in helping to advance significant policy objectives and
often to reach bipartisan cooperation on issues that are important to
the people we represent.
House Majority Leader
Bill DeWeese believes it is important to share the results with all
Pennsylvanians and it is available here.
