'Castle' auditorium renovation project receives $1 million state grant to finalize construction.

State Rep. Todd A. Eachus, D-Luzerne, joined state Supreme Court Chief Justice Ronald Castille and Reps. Eddie Day Pashinski, D-Luzerne, and Karen Boback, R-Luzerne, for a public bill signing ceremony with Gov. Ed Rendell. The governor signed House Bill 1648, an Eachus proposal that creates the Inter-Branch Commission on Juvenile Justice to address and examine the issues of corruption in the Luzerne County juvenile justice system.

State Rep. Todd A. Eachus welcomes the family and supporters of Donald Pollitt, a student at Hazleton Area High School, to the state House of Representatives in Harrisburg. Pollitt recently won the 2009 PIAA State Track and Field gold medal in the 110-meter hurdles, the first student from Hazletom Area High School to win a gold at the state championships. Eachus presented Pollitt with a House citiation honoring the student’s accomplishment.
