In 2008, House Democrats led the charge to enact a new energy strategy
for Pennsylvania. The new strategy takes the important first important steps
toward lowering energy bills for consumers, providing high-wage jobs and
supporting our brightest entrepreneurs. It:
- Makes Pennsylvania the first state in the nation to mandate
Cellulosic Ethanol production goals and standards.
- Helps Pennsylvania innovators generate clean, green energy and
build the technology that will generate energy worldwide.
- Invests $650 million to help consumers and businesses save and
conserve and moves us toward energy self-reliance.
- Requires electric power generators to provide consumers the
tools they need to use energy more efficiently and lower energy costs.
