HOUSE DEMOCRATIC LEADERSHIP LETTERS
Rep. Bill DeWeese, Majority Leader |

Majority Democrats fighting for your family's health
"More than half of working Americans
believe that the American Dream is still achievable.on the issue
worrying most workers, health care, 82% overall agree-that America
cannot rely on the marketplace for health insurance; government has
a responsibility to make sure Americans have health insurance." --The American Dream Survey by Change to Win - Fall 2006
Without your health, it's hard to worry about anything else. Majority House Democrats are talking to the people and to the health-care industry experts about how to guarantee that we all get the care we need at a price we can afford. We're the 3rd-oldest state in the nation, with the fastest-growing over-80 population. Long-term care must be a top priority so we can affordably provide quality, dignified care for our seniors - especially because the federal government is slashing payments and leaving holes in our Medical Assistance programs. Freshmen state Reps. Tim Mahoney and Chelsa Wagner held independent hearings this week on providing - and affording - care for the greatest generation. And because we understand that you can't simply write a blank check for health care and hope for the best, state Rep. Jennifer Mann hosted a forum on how we can afford health care for every man, woman and child in the state.
The House Majority
Democratic Caucus - delivering results, not excuses when it comes to
your health care.
