Stepping up to help local taxpayers
Local taxpayers will have the burden lessened on paying the $52 local services tax thanks to Finance Committee Chairman David Levdansky's efforts. Language crafted by Levdansky was signed into law this week by Gov. Edward G. Rendell which exempts people earning less than $12,000 from the tax and also requires the tax to be deducted on a pro-rated basis, rather than in one lump sum as had been done previously.
NEXT WEEK House is in Session Monday through Saturday
