KATHY M. MANDERINO (D-194) was first elected as State Representative in 1992 and has been re-elected to seven consecutive terms. She serves on the House Appropriations, Health & Human Services, Insurance, Judiciary and Urban Affairs Committees and is Chair of the Appropriations Sub-Committee on Health & Human Services and the Judiciary Sub-Committee on Family Law. Manderino is also a member of the Democratic Policy Committee and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) Advisory Council. She serves on the Human Services and Welfare Committee of the National Conference of State Legislatures. Manderino is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Board of Governors and was elected to serve as their Chair of the House of Delegates for 2007-2008; she is also on the Executive Committee of the Pennsylvania Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Northwest Victim Services, The Bridge Adolescent Treatment Center and The Food Trust. Prior to her legislative service, Manderino was a litigation attorney with Fox, Rothschild, O'Brien & Frankel in Philadelphia. She attended law school at night while serving as Director of Membership and Training for the Philadelphia Area Labor-Management Committee. Manderino graduated from Penn State University in 1980 with a degree in Public Service and received her law degree from Temple University in 1989. She is the daughter of the former Pennsylvania House Speaker, James J. Manderino (dec.) and Constance A. Manderino (dec.). Manderino lives in the Roxborough section of Philadelphia and represents parts of the City of Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township. |
