Rep. DePasquale joined Dr. Kate Orban, superintendant of Suburban School District, during the York Suburban High School’s “Flip the Switch” event thanking lawmakers for their support of the Classrooms for the Future initiative. Classrooms for the Future provides high schools across Pennsylvania with enhanced technology, laptop computers and other state-of-the art resources to increase student achievement and ensure students are ready for college and the high-tech global job market.

Rep. DePasquale joined Mayor John Brenner, representatives from the York Economic Development and Redevelopment Authority, and state Department of Environmental Protection Secretary Kathleen McGinty as the DEP delivered a $1 million grant to the Northwest Triangle project. The funding will be used for environmental assessment and remediation activities and is critical to the completion of the 29-acre redevelopment project in York City’s northwest corner.

Rep. Matt Smith presents $5,000 to Margaret Jackson, president of the Historical Society of Mt. Lebanon board, to help furnish the society’s new local history center with computers and office equipment.

Rep. King, joined by Rep. Dwight Evans and Bucks County Commissioner Diane Marseglia, presents $75,000 in funding to Kathleen Marsh, CEO of the American Red Cross Lower Bucks Shelter.

Rep. Shimkus joins fellow House Democrats at a press conference in the Capitol Rotunda on March 19 to announce a package of anti-crime legislation.
