Rep. Kevin Boyle is sworn in for the first time as state representative of the 172nd Legislative District. His brother, Brendan, at right, is sworn in to his second term representing the 170th Legislative District. The swearing-in is historic as it marks the first time two Democratic brothers have served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives at the same time.

Rep. Kevin Murphy joined members of the Pennsylvania Professional Firefighters Association, AFL-CIO and several colleagues at a Capitol rally encouraging Gov. Ed Rendell to sign House Bill 1231. Murphy's legislation would make it easier for firefighters to qualify for workers' compensation if they develop cancer during their time on the job.
