At a rally of 200 veterans, students of Scotland School for Veterans Children, and several House colleagues in the Capitol Rotunda, Rep. Bryan Barbin, D-Cambria, encourages people to ask their state senator to support restoring funding for veterans services that a Senate Republican budget plan has proposed cutting. The cuts would include nursing care reductions and closing the Scotland School, the last facility of its type in the nation.

Rep. Cherelle Parker speaks at a news conference to bring to light the harmful cuts contained in the 2009-10 Senate Republican budget (S.B. 850). That budget would harm millions of ordinary Pennsylvanians who rely on state services.
