Biography

Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski (D-121, Luzerne) is a graduate of Wilkes University with a bachelor’s of science degree in Music Education and a master’s equivalency from Penn State. He taught music and was the director of choral activities for 38 years at the Greater Nanticoke Area School District before retiring.

Pashinski’s political experiences include presidency of the Coordinating Council in Luzerne County, chair of the Luzerne County Legislative Committee, and regional assistant and chair of the State PACE Committee.

Over the years, Pashinski has demonstrated his community involvement and leadership qualities as union representative for the Greater Nanticoke School District’s association, advancing to chief spokesperson, vice president and eventually president of the GNA Education Association. Pashinski has been a volunteer for the United Way since 1982 and a member of the United Way board since 2002.

He is serving his third term as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He currently serves on the Aging and Older Adult Services, Human Services, Insurance and State Government committees. He is the subcommittee chairman on Programs and Benefits within the Aging and Older Adult Services Committee and vice chairman of the House Democratic Policy Committee.

The Luzerne County legislator supports House Democratic initiatives that would provide affordable quality health care to working Pennsylvania families.

Pashinski resides in Wilkes-Barre has been married to his wife Millie since 1968. They have four children and seven grandchildren.
