Rep. Ravenstahl resolution recognizes Nurses Week in Pa.
HARRISBURG, May 9 – State Rep. Adam Ravenstahl's resolution designating May 6 to 12 as Nurses Week in Pennsylvania was recently adopted by the state House.
"Pennsylvania nurses work hard to make Pennsylvania a healthier state, and it's my honor to recognize them for all they do," said Ravenstahl, D-Allegheny. "It's a demanding profession, and they are on the front lines of our healthcare system. Their hard work and patient care is paramount to the health of Pennsylvania residents."
Ravenstahl said Nurses Week in Pennsylvania and other states is held in conjunction with Florence Nightingale's birthday. Nightingale is considered the founder of the modern nursing profession.
Nurses from across the state will be at the state Capitol Tuesday, May 10 for Pennsylvania State Nurses Association's Legislative Day. The day will include a news conference in the Capitol Rotunda and an educational session. The organization represents the more than 208,000 registered nurses.
