Costa announces Pennvest grant for Millvale
HARRISBURG, Jan. 25 – State Rep. Dom Costa announced today that Millvale has received a $703,525 Pennvest grant to help finance the TreeVitalize Project.
Costa attended the final approval meeting today in Harrisburg and strongly advocated for the project to be funded.
The TreeVitalize project will be implemented in conjunction with the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy to plant approximately 850 trees, along with installation of bioswales, in an effort to reduce storm water runoff in to Girty’s Run.
“This is very important to Millvale to help reduce the effects of storm water runoff and to protect the public water supply,” Costa said. “I am happy for the Borough of Millvale and very appreciative to Pennvest for this much needed grant.”
The Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority serves communities and residents of the commonwealth by funding sewer, stormwater and drinking water projects throughout Pennsylvania. The projects contribute to improving the environment and provide opportunities for economic growth and jobs for Pennsylvania workers.
