Smith holding local news conference Thursday on his Truth in Tuition bill
MT. LEBANON, May 12 – State Rep. Matt Smith, D-Allegheny, will hold a news conference this Thursday in Mt. Lebanon to discuss legislation he's proposing that would give students and families greater ability to plan ahead for college costs.
Smith will be joined by Keystone Oaks High School Principal Scott Hagy and several college-bound high school students to help explain the need for his legislation.

Smith's "Truth in Tuition Act" would require State System universities, state-related schools and community colleges to provide a student upon enrollment with a set schedule of tuition and fees for the next four years. The legislation would also require tuition and fee bills to be accompanied by a greater explanation charges rather than merely stating the name of a fee.
