Cambria County to honor its 1,000 WWII veterans Sunday
JOHNSTOWN, Pa., May 14 – More than 1,000 World War II veterans from Cambria County will be honored at a public ceremony Sunday.
The Cambria County World War II Recognition Ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 18 in the Cambria County War Memorial, 326 Napoleon St.
The event is hosted by state Reps. Edward Wojnaroski Sr., Gary Haluska and Tom Yewcic, Sen. John Wozniak and the Conemaugh Valley Veterans.
Each veteran will be presented with a medal and citation in recognition for his or her service and sacrifice. U.S. Rep. John P. Murtha will offer remarks, and music of the era will be performed.
