Majority Policy Committee, Smith to host public hearing on outreach for veterans
HARRISBURG, Feb. 3 – House Majority Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today that the committee will hold a public hearing on outreach for Pennsylvania veterans from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5 at the University of Scranton, DeNaples Center, McIlhenny Ballroom’s Section C, 900 Mulberry St., Scranton.
State Rep. Ken Smith, D-Lackawanna, requested the hearing and will serve as co-chairman. The current agenda is:
- 9 a.m. – Welcome and opening remarks
- 9:10 a.m. – Brig. Gen. Scott Wagner, deputy adjutant general for veterans affairs, Pennsylvania Department of Military and Veterans Affairs
- 9:30 a.m. – Thomas Dougherty, past state commander, Pennsylvania Veterans of Foreign Wars
- 9:50 a.m. – Bruce Foster, Department Service officer, American Legion Department of Pennsylvania
- 10:10 a.m. – Jane Oswald, tobacco outreach coordinator, Northeast Regional Cancer Institute
- 10:30 a.m. – Closing remarks
