Democratic Policy Committee to hold public hearing
on health care issues Tuesday in Nanticoke
HARRISBURG, March 25 House Democratic Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, annouched today that the committee will hold a public hearing regarding health care issues in Pennsylvania from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 29 at Luzerne County Community College's Education Conference Center, 1333 S. Prospect St., Nanticoke.
State Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski, D-Luzerne, who requested the hearing, will serve as its co-chair. The hearing will focus on the termination of adultBasic and recent state legislative efforts to prevent federal health care reform from occurring in Pennsylvania.
The current hearing agenda is:
- 2 p.m. Welcome and opening remarks
- 2:10 p.m. Rick Bloomingdale, president, Pennsylvania AFL-CIO
- 2:30 p.m. Athena Ford, statewide education and implementation coordinator, Pennsylvania Health Access Network
- 2:50 p.m. Patty Ludwikowski, vice president, SEIU Healthcare Pennsylvania
- 3:10 p.m. Closing remarks
