Majority Policy Committee to hold public hearing in Philadelphia Wednesday on human services
HARRISBURG, May 21 – Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today that the House Majority Policy Committee will hold a public hearing on human services from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 27 at Temple University, President’s Conference Suite, First Floor, 1810 Liacouras Walk Building, Philadelphia.
The hearing will have a special emphasis on the mental retardation waiting list reduction, autism achievements, and early childhood mental health initiative. The current agenda is:
· 2:30 p.m. – Welcome and opening remarks by Sturla
· 2:40 p.m. – Estelle Richman, secretary, Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare
· 3 p.m. – Nancy Richey, parent and disability advocate
· 3:20 p.m. – David Fine, parent and autism advocate
· 3:40 p.m. – Michele Myers-Cepicka, executive director, The Alliance for Infants & Toddlers
· 4 p.m. – Ronald Brown, dean, Temple University’s College of Health Professions
· 4:20 p.m. – Closing remarks
The hearing is open to the public and media coverage is invited.
