Democratic Policy Committee to hold public hearing on state budget cuts Wednesday in Harrisburg
HARRISBURG, July 11 – State Rep. Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, chairman of the House Democratic Policy Committee, announced today that the committee will hold a public hearing to examine the impact of cuts in the 2011-2012 state budget from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 13 in Room 418 of the Main Capitol Building in Harrisburg.
The current hearing agenda is:
- 10 a.m. – Welcome and opening remarks
- 10:10 a.m. – W. Gerard Olesiak, treasurer, The Pennsylvania State Education Association
- 10:40 a.m. – Brinda Carroll Penyak, deputy executive director, County Commissioners Association of PA
- 11:10 a.m. – Judy Banks, deputy director, Disability Rights Network of PA
- 11:40 a.m. – Michael Wood, research director, Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center
- 12:10 p.m. – Closing remarks
The hearing is open to the public and media coverage is invited.
