HDPC to hold public hearing on BPA Usage Wednesday in Harrisburg
HARRISBURG, Sept. 16 – House Democratic Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today that the committee will hold a public hearing to look at usage of BPA (bisphenol-A ) in baby products from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21 in Room 418 Main Capitol Building, Harrisburg.
Rep. Lawrence Curry, D-Montgomery/Phila., has introduced House Bill 192, which would ban BPA from baby products sold and manufactured in Pennsylvania. Curry requested the hearing and will serve as its co-chair. The hearing agenda is:
· 10 a.m. – Welcome and opening remarks
· 10:10 a.m. – Terrence Collins, PhD, Director of Institute for Green Science, Carnegie Mellon University
· 10:30 a.m. – Panel One:
Ø Rebecca Roberts, PhD, associate professor, Ursinus College
