Kavulich to host Voter ID hearing in Waverly on April 11

 

HARRISBURG, April 4 – State Rep. Sid Michaels-Kavulich will host a House Democratic Policy Committee hearing regarding the new Voter ID Law from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. April 11 at the Waverly Community House Auditorium, 115 North Abington Road, Waverly.

 

Attendees will be advised on the impact the new law will have on voting procedures in the upcoming primary and general elections. The hearing will also examine the effects the new law will have on the community, including seniors, veterans and people with disabilities.

 

Testifiers will include Marion Medalis, director of elections, Lackawanna County Department of Elections; Keith Williams, community organizer, Northeast Pennsylvania Center for Independent Living; Desiree Hung, associate state director-advocacy, AARP Pennsylvania; and others.
