Rep. Mullery to serve on three House committees
HARRISBURG, Jan. 18 – State Rep. Gerald Mullery, D-Luzerne, has been appointed to serve on the House Children and Youth, Health, and Game and Fisheries committees for the 2011-12 Legislative Session.
"I'm excited about these appointments and I'm ready to get to work," Mullery said. "These assignments give me a seat at the table when many pieces of legislation are drafted that will impact the lives of the people of the 119th Legislative District."
The father of four, Mullery said he has a keen interest in making sure all children are protected and get a good start in life. He said his assignment to the Children and Youth Committee will allow him to advocate for children.
As a member of the Health Committee, Mullery said he will work to provide quality services that benefit the health and safety of Pennsylvanians. The Health Committee is a new committee. Previously, it had been part of the Health and Human Services Committee.
Mullery said his role on the Game and Fisheries Committee will enable him to work for the many outdoorsmen in northeast Pennsylvania who enjoy fishing and hunting.
Mullery's constituent service office is located at 156 S. Market St., Nanticoke. The telephone number is 570-740-7031. He also can be contacted through his website, www.pahouse.com/Mullery.
