Democratic Policy Committee to hold public hearing
on transportation issues Thursday in Bristol
HARRISBURG, Oct. 11 – House Democratic Policy Committee Chairman Mike Sturla, D-Lancaster, announced today that the committee will hold a public hearing on transportation issues from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday in the Bristol Municipal Building’s Council Auditorium, 2500 Bath Road, Bristol.
State Rep. Tina Davis, D-Bucks, who requested the hearing, will serve as its co-chairman. The hearing will discuss the challenges being faced due to Pennslyvania’s aging and deteriorating transportation infrastructure.
The current hearing agenda is:
- 10 a.m. – Welcome and opening remarks;
- 10:10 a.m. -- Panel from TMA Bucks: Phil Wursta, president; and Bill Rickett, executive director;
- 10:40 a.m. – Richard Burnfield, chief financial officer, Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority;
- 11 a.m. – Tom Tosti, director, AFSCME District Council 88;
- 11:20 a.m. – Shayne Trimbell, board member, Pennsylvania Walks and Bikes;
- 11:40 a.m. -- Rick Bloomingdale, president, AFL-CIO;
- Noon – Closing remarks.
The hearing is open to the public and media coverage is invited.
