Urban Affairs Committee to hold public hearing in Philadelphia
HARRISBURG, March 12 – State Rep. W. Curtis Thomas, chairman of the House Urban Affairs Committee, said the committee will hold a public hearing on H.B. 1914 at 10 a.m. Friday, March 19 in Room 400 of Philadelphia City Hall, Broad and Market streets, Philadelphia.
House Bill 1914, introduced by state Rep. Mark Cohen, D-Phila., would require the addition of 50 wheelchair accessible taxicabs in Philadelphia. The bill would also require that taxicab companies provide workers' compensation coverage for their drivers.
