Waters reminds constituents of LIHEAP extension
PHILADELPHIA, April 1 – State Rep. Ronald G. Waters, D-Phila./Delaware, reminds constituents that the state's Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, known as LIHEAP, has been extended by two weeks.
Waters said the extension will be a great help to many of his constituents.
LIHEAP provides cash grants to help low-income households pay for home heating fuel and crisis grants to address heating emergencies such as a furnace failure or unexpected fuel shortages.
LIHEAP, which is administered by the Department of Public Welfare, so far has helped 382,046 families through cash grants and 111,178 households with crisis grants this winter.
"In a time when many families are experiencing economic hardship, I am glad the state is able to lend a helping hand to them," Waters said.
For more information about LIHEAP, residents can contact Waters’ constituent service office at 215-748-6712.
