Waters to host fifth annual free luncheon for area senior citizens this Friday

PHILADELPHIA, May 12 -- State Rep. Ronald G. Waters, D-Phila./Delaware, will host his fifth annual free luncheon for senior citizens from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May 16 at Turner Middle School, 59th Street and Baltimore Avenue.

The month of May has been designated as "Older Americans Month" in Pennsylvania, and the theme of this year's luncheon is "Working Together for Strong, Healthy and Supportive Communities."

"I'm inviting senior citizens in my district to come and take advantage of health screenings that will be provided at the luncheon," Waters said. "They'll also have the opportunity to discuss available health care and pharmaceutical options with a variety of HMO providers."

The luncheon will again feature the popular "Who Put the 'P' in Pinochle" tournament, a delicious soul-food lunch, dancing, games and prizes.

Waters and his staff will help answer constituents' questions and concerns about driver's licenses and registrations, health insurance, Property Tax/Rent Rebate forms, PACE prescription-drug assistance applications, or any other state government program. Brochures about additional state programs and services will also be available to seniors.

For more information, residents should call Waters' constituent service office at 215-748-6712.

Media coverage is invited.
