Youngblood to host open house at new constituent service office
PHILADELPHIA, Feb. 16 – State Rep. Rosita C. Youngblood, D-Phila., will host an open house this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 17 and 18, at her new constituent service office, 243 W. Chelten Ave. (corner of Chelten and Pulaski avenues), in Philadelphia.
The open house will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17 and from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 18. Youngblood said she and members of her office staff will be available during the open house to meet constituents and discuss issues and services important to the community.
Plenty of free parking is available and light refreshments will be served.
Media coverage is invited.
In October of last year, Youngblood had to abruptly close her previous constituent service office located one block away from the new office location due to significant mold accumulation. For the health and safety of her staff, as well as to constituents, Youngblood's office was closed for several months until a new location could be secured.
"This weekend's open house is a way to let constituents know that we have a new location and that we are fully operational again," Youngblood said. "It has been a difficult few months, but my staff is as eager as ever to help the people of this community."
Youngblood mentioned that her constituent service office can help residents with questions and information about PACE, CHIP and other state programs, as well as provide information on financial assistance for higher education. They can also assist with Property Tax/Rent Rebate questions, help with unemployment compensation, assist with obtaining birth certificates applications, and work with the Department of Public Welfare and other agencies on behalf of constituents.
