Free enrollment offered in PA college savings plan

HARRISBURG, Aug. 11 – State Rep. Peter J. Daley, D-Fayette/Washington, would like parents to be aware of a special offer for families considering opening a Pennsylvania 529 Guaranteed Savings Plan.

“For a limited time, Treasury is waving the online enrollment fee, which represents a $50 savings,” Daley said. “The PA 529 plan, formerly known as TAP, allows families to start saving well in advance of when their son or daughter will be ready to start college. If you have never looked into the program, you may want to while there is a financial incentive available.”

According to information from Treasury, those who sign up by Aug. 31 can save at last year’s credit rates. Credit prices are expected to rise after that date due to increases in tuition rates for the coming academic year.

To qualify for free online enrollment, families should use the coupon code SAVE NOW.
